Yesterday was a day of action regarding the water-energy nexus, as U.S. Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) called on the federal government to partner and support research to improve the efficient use of both water and energy. The U.S. Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee released a white paper entitled The Energy-Water Nexus: Interlinked Resources That Are Vital for Economic Growth and Sustainability, which references work done by AWE. Efficiency-trained plumbers are ready to advance water conservation across Canada! 128 Canadian plumbers recently participated in a pilot Green Plumbers® program, a national water sustainability training and accreditation program. This AWE project was managed by AWE member Econics, made possible by a grant from RBC and supported by many regional members. 86% of workshop participants expect to recommend and/or install water-saving devices more often in the future.
