Commercial efficiency programs can produce major savings. The NYC DEP's Hotel Water Conservation Challenge helped 11 hotels conserve water, and 4 participants achieved at least a 5% reduction - resulting in 11,300,000 gallons saved. NYC has shared a new Hotel Manager’s Guide to Water Efficiency, produced with help from AWE, which offers tips for conserving water in guest rooms, common areas, food service, laundry and pool operations.
